How to Convert DOC to Kindle Format 8(KF8)?
If you have a document you wish to read on your Kindle Fire in KF8 format - for example - a Microsoft Word (.doc) file, you have to convert it to KF8 for use on your Kindle Fire. Thankfully this is not something that is difficult to do.
Here I will show you an easy way to convert DOC to KF8.
Amazon provides a service helping you to convert documents(includes HTML, DOC, PDF) to Kindle files. To do this you have to have an active Amazon e-mail address. You can make sure you are set-up with an e-mail address by visiting the "Manage Your Kindle" section of the Amazon web site. Typically, your Kindle e-mail address will be "firstname.lastname@example.org".
Amazon will convert and wirelessly deliver the following format types: Microsoft Word (.DOC) and (.DOCX). Structured HTML (.HTML) and (.HTM). Rich Text Format (.RTF). PDF (.PDF) Images: JPEG, GIF, PNG, and BMP.
Following are the detailed steps about how to convert DOC to KF8:
1. Create an e-mail to your Amazon e-mail address and attach the file you wish to read on your Kindle Fire.
2. Send the e-mail, Amazon will convert the document and send it to your Kindle Fire via the wireless connection.
The cost for this service is $.10 (ten cents) per document. If you want to convert your document at no charge, or are in an area where you can not access the Kindle Fire's wireless service you can do so with a slight change in the steps above. To avoid wireless delivery charges, you can have the converted documents delivered to your primary email address to add to your Kindle Fire via USB cable, or have them delivered to a Kindle Fire with WiFi so that you don’t get charged a delivery fee for using the 3G wireless. Just send the files to this address instead of the paid delivery one shown above, (your-choice)@free.kindle.com.
